FEATURED PARTNERS
Tarrant County Medical Society
CCFW is proud to partner with the Tarrant County Medical Society (TCMS) on a special project aimed at helping families who are in poverty receive much needed health care. Project Access, a joint collaboration, will allow our community to leverage volunteer doctors and clients in need of services. CCFW is responsible for signing up eligible clients, providing clients transportation to doctor’s appointments, and helping clients navigate the health care system. TCMS is responsible for getting volunteer doctors, hospitals, and ancillary service providers (examples-lab work, x-rays) to donate their time. This is a partnership made in heaven because we have people who need access to health care and TCMS has plenty of doctors who care about making a difference for the underserved in Tarrant County! We are excited about the hundreds of families that will benefit from this much needed service in our community and proud to have them as our partners.
Kubes Jewelers
There is no question in our mind why Kubes Jewelers won the 2010 Greater Tarrant Business Ethics Award…not many company’s can compete with their commitment to caring for their community at large! Kubes Jewelers is a terrific partner to Catholic Charities. They stepped forward as the lead sponsor for our dinner and auction, Noche de Fiesta. In addition, they have donated a diamond valued at over $5,000 for our Sangria and Sparkles diamond giveaway! Beyond this, the name “Kubes” is found all over CCFW, where many of the Kubes clan can be found volunteering regularly on our board, audit committee, and fundraising committees. We are proud to call Kubes Jewelers one of our partners.
Marriott
Over the past year, Marriott Hotels’ Fairfield Inn & Suites in Fort Worth, Marriott Residence Inn in Las Colinas, and the Courtyard Marriott in Fort Worth have donated their time, expertise, and furniture to families in need. Fairfield Inn & Suites and Marriott Residence Inn in Las Colinas donated televisions and entire furniture sets to CCFW during room renovations, providing us with over $150,000 worth of donated goods. We coordinated with these Marriott hotels to assist with emptying all of their rooms to be renovated, which was accomplished through the hard work of our volunteers and staff members removing furniture from over 120 rooms and suites. All of this furniture will go directly to setting up homes for families who have just been brought out of homelessness and placed in a home, to refugees newly arrived to the United States, and to numerous other families living in poverty. In addition, the Courtyard Marriott in Fort Worth has offered up priceless hours of education and training for refugees seeking employment, including a housekeeping curriculum and the opportunity for the students to come through their facilities to have on-site training and orientation. Marriott’s contribution to creating homes and careers for our clients is invaluable to the people we serve and instrumental in the way we serve them.
Good Shepherd Catholic Church
We love all of our partnerships with our Catholic parishes, and Good Shepherd Catholic Church is one that we want to specifically mention! Good Shepherd has been a long time supporter of our agency through volunteering at our children’s shelter and providing financial support. This year, they took it to the next level by outsourcing their social ministry program to CCFW, giving us a gift of over $78,000. This enabled us to pay our financial assistance staff and provided for direct assistance to clients. The partnership allows us to leverage some of our specific assistance funds to help the families they serve…stretching everyone’s dollars further to provide more services to get families out of poverty. Good Shepherd Catholic Church is a great reminder to all of us of Matthew 25, when Jesus called us to care for the “least of those among us.” We are proud to be partnering with Good Shepherd to live out our faith and help brothers and sisters in need.
CCUSA
In Spring of 2011, Catholic Charities USA, based in Alexandria, Virginia, made the decision to purchase a new national headquarters building. They decided that the bottom floor of their new office would be used to develop a café and catering company that would hire people in need to learn new job skills and become employed. Through their CEO, Father Larry Snyder, and their board of directors, CCUSA made the decision to partner with Catholic Charities Fort Worth to write their business plan for this new social venture. We are so proud to be partnering with them this fall to develop an innovative business model that will have a double bottom line…helping families in their area get out of poverty and making a profit to support their mission of reducing poverty in America.
TXU
While many let out a huge sigh of frustration when opening utility bills each month, at Catholic Charities Fort Worth, we hear the name “TXU” and let out a huge sigh of relief! TXU has been a long-time partner of CCFW. TXU, an industry leader in their field of caring for families in need, allows its customers to donate additional money in their bill payment to help people who cannot afford to pay their utility bill. When someone donates $1, TXU matches this gift with $5! TXU gives CCFW over $500,000 a year to help people in need. With the recent hot summer days, TXU took this a step further. We held “blitz” days with TXU to help our families and at one of the latest blitzes, we helped over 400 families with utility assistance and gave out over $115,000 of TXU funds! We are so grateful to have such a wonderful partner in our community that allows us to ensure the basic needs of our community are met.
