Vocation Program
If you are interested in pursuing an Associates degree in Airframe Maintenance or Accounting, and need tuition assistance, contact us for more information! We are currently accepting applications for the 2012 Vocation Program - deadline is March 31st, 2012.
The goal of the Vocation Program is to assist clients currently in our services gain the necessary education and skills training needed to secure employment at a living wage.
The program assists with tuition costs at local community colleges, and is focused
on helping clients gain their Associate’s Degree in two targeted industries: Airframe Maintenance and Accounting.
The Vocation Program also assists with professional skills development, job placement
and follow-up support as well as other wrap around services as needed.
The Vocation Program will hold competitive interviews and selection in April. Successful candidates will take part in summer workshops and enroll in Tarrant County College classes in Fall of 2012. The program will support clients for two years, and upon
successful completion of coursework in May 2014, will assist with job
placement.
Eligibility
- Have work authorization status
- Be at 150% or below the poverty line ( less than $16,335/year)
- Willing and Able
- Underemployed or Unemployed
- Currently in CCFW services (or within 6 months of receipt of services as of January 2012)
- Do not hold degree in focus sectors
- Lack skills/education/training necessary for employment in focus sectors at living
wage
- GED/HS Diploma preferred, but not required
